Astro File Manager For Windows And PC
In this tutorial we are going to cover using Astro File Manager for accessing and extracting Android files from the Bluestacks Emulator. At the end of this tutorial you will be able to successfully backup and save Android files to your PC. To do this successfully we will need a file management app and a file backup app.
There are several free file management apps available that can be used for Android file management. The Android file manager app that will be used for this tutorial is the free Astro file manager from Metago.
Step 1. Start up your Bluestacks emulator.
Step 2. Access Bluestacks search app and search for the free Astro file manager. Once that it shows in the search results click install. I already have this installed on my PC.
Step 3. Now that you have installed Astro file manager, take a moment to get familiar with its funtions. When you access the app you should come to a screen with several different selections to choose from.
Step 5. After selecting the sdcard icon, you be directed to a page that will display several folders. On this page will be a folder labeled Android. This will be the file location of all of the stored apps that are used on the Android operating system.
Step 6. The app that will be backed up and extracted in this tutorial series is Temple Run 2. It’s important that we familiarize ourselves with the location of Temple Run 2′s apk location. After selecting the Android folder a page will be displayed with 2 folders. One is a folder labeled data and the other is a folder labeled obb. Select the data folder.
Step 7. After selecting the data folder another page will be displayed with more folder options. The folder that we want to select is com.imangi. This is the Imangi Studios folder that contains the Temple Run 2 apk file that we will be later backing up.
Step 8. After selecting the Imangi file another page will be displayed with a single file labeled files. This is where the Temple Run 2 file is stored. When selected, should see the apk file.
Now we have located the first file that we are going to back up and extract. In the next tutorial on Android file management we will cover what program to use to backup the Temple Run 2 apk file.
